Seven Ghanaian traders killed by suspected terrorists in Burkina Faso during an attack at a market in the northern town of Titao were buried on Monday, according to Ghana’s Ministry of Interior.
Speaking on a local radio station, Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak disclosed that the victims were among a group of 18 traders who had traveled to Burkina Faso to buy tomatoes on Saturday when gunmen stormed the location. The assailants reportedly separated men from women before opening fire.
The minister said the attackers went on a shooting spree, killing almost all the men and burning them along with the truck. He added that the bodies were burned beyond recognition.
Three men and one woman from the group survived with injuries, while the remaining seven women escaped unharmed.
