Uganda Airlines has temporarily suspended its scheduled Entebbe-Dubai flights following an airspace closure that has disrupted operations on the route.
The announcement was contained in a travel advisory issued on Saturday, citing circumstances beyond the airline’s control. The carrier said the decision was taken to ensure passenger safety and operational compliance as authorities manage the evolving airspace situation.
The airline confirmed that affected passengers holding confirmed bookings on the suspended flights will be re-accommodated on alternative carriers where possible. Others will be rebooked on future Uganda Airlines flights at no additional cost once normal operations resume.
Travellers may also opt to reschedule their journeys to a later date under flexible change arrangements.
The national carrier said it is directly contacting affected passengers via phone and email with updated travel details. Those who made bookings through travel agents have been advised to liaise with their agents for further assistance.
Passengers scheduled to travel on the Entebbe-Dubai route have been urged to verify their flight status before heading to the airport. For personalised assistance, Uganda Airlines’ Global Call Centre remains available 24/7 via telephone and WhatsApp, in addition to the airline’s reservations email.
The carrier apologised for the inconvenience caused and pledged to provide updates once the airspace reopens and regular scheduling resumes.
The closure of parts of Middle Eastern airspace follows a major military escalation in the Gulf region, after reported joint strikes by the United States and Israel on targets in Iran earlier in the day.
Several countries – including Ethiopia, Kenya, Egypt, and Algeria – have also closed their airspace as a precaution to protect civilian aviation from potential crossfire or retaliatory missile activity.
