President Bola Tinubu has nominated Mr Taiwo Oyedele as Nigeria’s Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr Doris Anite-Uzoka, who has been redeployed to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
This marks Anite-Uzoka’s third ministerial portfolio in the current administration.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu has formally sent Oyedele’s nomination to the Senate for confirmation in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Until his nomination, Oyedele served as chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he led initiatives to overhaul Nigeria’s tax administration and strengthen the country’s fiscal framework.
Analysts say his appointment signals a renewed focus on tax reforms and fiscal policy within the Finance Ministry.
The reshuffle comes as part of President Tinubu’s broader effort to align key economic portfolios with his administration’s strategic priorities.
