A fire broke out at Terminal 1 of Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Monday, prompting the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN), to implement emergency protocols and temporarily suspend airport operations Authorities confirmed that six individuals were injured in the incident and are currently receiving medical care, with all reported to be in stable condition. Ethiopia has ruled out an immediate opening of its aviation market to foreign private airlines, citing the need to build a more resilient domestic aviation sector. The Commissioner General of Prisons has announced the death of three people following a shooting incident at Kiboga Prison on Monday, February 23, 2026.
