President Alassane Ouattara on Friday unveiled a new government for Côte d’Ivoire, several months after the country’s presidential election held in October 2025.
The cabinet, led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, consists of 34 members, including four deputy ministers. This represents a slight reduction from the previous administration, which comprised 36 ministers.
One of the notable changes in the new executive is the introduction of a deputy prime minister position. The role has been assigned to Téné Birahima Ouattara, the president’s younger brother, who will support the prime minister in coordinating government action.
The reshuffle also brings changes to the country’s diplomatic leadership. Nialé Kaba, who previously oversaw the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development, has been appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Meanwhile, Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, who served as Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, has exited the government.
Several senior officials have retained their positions. General Vagondo Diomandé remains Minister of the Interior, Françoise Remarck continues as Minister of Culture and Francophonie, and Jean Sansan Kambilé has been reappointed Minister of Justice. A first cabinet meeting under the new administration is scheduled for Saturday, 24 January, at 11:00 a.m.
Speaking after his reappointment, Prime Minister Mambé said the government would prioritise the continuation of major structural projects, consolidate existing gains and improve the living standards of Ivorians.
